How to get it

Download it to your Mac from here.

There is no need to uninstall any previous version of Glance you have installed.   Just install 2.5 and go!

Glance 2.5 can be installed on any Mac with OS X Version 10.4 (Tiger) or later.
For OS X Version 10.3.9 please continue to use Glance 2.3

Starting a session

Start Session - Show My Screen

This is the same kind of session you've always hosted with Glance, letting you show your screen to up to 100 guests on any PC, Mac, or Linux computer.

  • Click the Glance "G" icon in your menu bar and choose Start Session - Show My Screen.
  • Ask your guest to go to the web page at your Glance Address, enter the Session Key, and click Join Session. Your first guest must join within ten minutes, before the Session Key expires. Additional guests can join at any time.

Start Session - View Guest's Screen

This is new. Choose this menu item to see or control your (first) guest's screen. Your guest will be asked to run Glance from their computer and confirm they want to allow you to see (and optionally control) their screen.

On your Mac:

  • Click the G icon in your menu bar or control-click (right-click) the dock icon.
  • Select Start session - View Guest's Screen.
  • When you are asked "How do you want the session to start?", choose either:
    • "View only" (to only see their screen)
    • "View and control" (to allow you to control and type on their screen)

On your guest's Mac or PC:

  • Ask your guest to go to the web page at your Glance Address, enter the Session Key, and click Join Session.
  • Tell your guest to follow the instructions on their screen.
  • Have them click "Allow" to allow you to view and/or control their screen.

Selecting the Monitor to Show

If you have more than one display monitor on your computer, you can select which one Glance shows to your guests.

Click the "G"-icon. Choose Settings > Options  Select the monitor you wish to show in the menu next to "Show monitor".

You can select a different monitor during a session.  In this version of Glance you may also change the display resolution (in System Preferences > Displays) during a session.
