5 Tips for Inside Sales Pitch Success, from Glance
- Focus on their needs. Tailor your presentation to each prospect's specific concerns. Don’t grind through the same pitch time after time. It tells prospects that you're not listening. Address each concern as it arises. Jump to the relevant slide, find the appropriate web page or call up the specific term in the contract.
- Tell a great story. People who tune out sales pitches still enjoy hearing an engaging story. Tell an amusing anecdote about how your product saved the day in some unexpected way. "Did you hear what happened when...?" You get the idea.
- Set up a good Internet connection beforehand Make sure you have plenty of download and upload bandwidth. When you’re hosting a demo, it’s the upload speed that matters most (there’s a good speed tester here). To avoid any wireless drops, connect your computer directly to your network and disable your wireless interface.
- Lower your screen resolution. We all like a nice big screen when working, but that's not what you should use for remote sales demos. Lowering your screen resolution to 1024x768 or even 800x600 lets screen changes get to your guests more quickly. It also makes it more likely that your guests will see your screen at full scale, so it's easy to read.
- Make it memorable! You want prospects to be able to tell others what you said. Hammer home key points with snappy sound bites or a memorable image that's easy to recall.
